Bowls - Triples Competition |
At the start of November Campbeltown
Bowling Club held the Archie Morans Memorial Triples, the
first competition of the indoor season that attracted a
good entry from members. The final on Friday night saw the
holders for the last two years, Jimmy Anderson, Alistair
Mackay and Kevin Hart, make a very determined effort to
make it a hat-trick of titles in an epic final with John
McNaughton, Alec Black and Michael McKinlay that was
decided in the latter’s favour by a single bowl that was
separated form the jack by the thickness of a cigarette
paper. The trophies and prizes were presented by
Presidents John Johnston and Doreen MacMillan who
congratulated the players on providing an excellent final
for the large crowd of spectators.
