Fiona Mitchell of Kintyre
Schools Pipe Band won both the March Strathspey & Reel
event, and the Hornpipe & Jig event at the Dumbarton &
District Juvenile Piping Competition held at Renton on
Saturday 3rd March. Playing for the first time in the 15
to 18 years section, Fiona impressed the judges with a
couple of faultless performances and was presented with
the Jag Building Engineering Services Cup and the McCrady
Memorial Shield.

A total of 13 young pipers from Campbeltown made the trip
to the Dumbarton competition, accompanied by Pipe Major
Ian McKerral.
In the Novice March event all three entrants from Kintyre
did well to get onto the prize list, with Craig Barbour
placed Second, Campbell McFadyen Fourth, and Frank
Rochford Sixth.
