2nd December 2007 - Town Hall receives a lick of paint.

Campbeltown Town Hall received a much needed lick of paint recently following much campaigning by locals and councillors to the Council.

This outstanding town hall was built in 1758-60 by John Douglas

The building has had a long and distinguished history, even serving as the town’s prison at one time. It has an attractive octagonal steeple featuring Gibbsian keystones. In 1865-66 an addition was made to give an alternative entrance, complete with columned porch.
