Kintyre Songwriter's Festival - Friday 29th and Saturday 30th May 2009
The dates for this year's festival have been finalised, and the second Songwriters Festival will kick off on Friday the 29th of May and end with a no-doubt fantastic finale on Saturday 30th May 2009. If last year's festival is anything to go by, then this year's festival will be an absolute cracker! Vatersay Boys "Back at the Vic" - Friday 5th June 2009
The Vatersay Boys return to the Victoria Hall in Campbeltown following their sell out gig in 2008. Five piece band playing traditional music with passion. Two boxes, bass guitar, drums and pipes. A night not to be missed! For more information contact Iain Johnston on 01586 552034.
Gigha Music Festival - Friday 26th to Tuesday 30th June 2009
The Gigha Music Festival has moved to June this year and promises to be just as good if not better than previous years. More information to follow.
Tarbert Seafood Festival - Saturday 4th and Sunday 5th July 2009
The Tarbert Seafood Festival, set around Tarbert's natural harbour at the tip of Kintyre, is one of the area's main annual events held on the first full weekend in July. This is definitely something to celebrate and promote. If you havnt been before to Tarbert or to the Seafood Festival we hope this website will give you a feel for what happens and encourage you to come and join in the fun. Kintyre Way Relay and Ceilidh (Tayinloan) - Saturday 2nd May 2009
The Kintyre Way Relay is a cross-country event for walkers and runners, from Tarbert to Campbeltown along the Kintyre Way, Scotland’s most scenic long-distance path. Varied terrain, from hill paths and forestry tracks to beaches and seaside rocks. Stunning scenery with views across the sea to Arran, Islay, Jura and Gigha. Glengyle Distillery Open Day - Thursday 21st May 2009
Join us for the launch of Kilkerran 'Work In Progress' Single Malt Whisky and an exclusive insight into Mitchell's Glengyle Distillery. Originally opened in 1872, the distillery closed in 1925 but spirit began flowing from the stills again in 2004. Brewin Dolphin Scottish Series 2009, Tarbert - 22nd to 25th May 2009
A particularly attractive natural harbour used for sailing ships over more than a thousand years, Tarbert on Loch Fyne annually hosts Clyde Cruising Club's 'Brewn Dolphin Scottish Series', which has become Scotland's biggest yachting event, and second indeed, in Britain's waters, only to Cowes Week. Mull of Kintyre Half Marathon and 10k - Sunday 24th May 2009
Voted Scotland's favourite race in 2007 - only one year after it all started this is a weekend packed with activities.
